What to expect

Enjoy a 1 hour flamenco dance class with one of our talented artists at Zoraya Gardenswhere you will learn the fundamentals of this exciting art. During the class, you will become familiar with the basic rhythms of flamenco, such as the tangos and buleríasand you will master a small choreography that combines steps of footworkthe rhythmic use of the clapping and elegant arm movements, known as braceo.

This experience is designed for people of all ages, both men and women, who wish to discover and dance one of the most evocative and sensual traditions of Andalusia.

  • Introduction to flamenco: history, compasses and basic techniques.

  • Learn the main movements and basic steps of a simple choreography.

  • Discover the importance of “palmeo” (rhythmic clapping) and how to accompany the music in an authentic way.

Tips for beginners

You do not need special clothing for the class, but we recommend:

  • Wear an upper garment that allows freedom of movement in the arms.
  • Choose hard-soled shoes (avoid rubber soles), which emit sound when walking, essential for the zapateado steps.
